Supply Teacher – Primary, Secondary & SEN (Part‑time/Temporary)

About the role

Academics is seeking qualified teachers to provide temporary cover in primary, secondary and SEN schools across Berkhamsted and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible, part‑time assignments that allow you to gain experience while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons in your specialist phase or subject.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Follow each school’s policies, lesson plans and behaviour management procedures.
• Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment where all pupils can succeed.
• Provide cover for both planned and unplanned staff absences in primary, secondary or SEN settings.
• Adapt or deliver pre‑prepared work when required.

Required profile

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching in primary, secondary or SEN settings.
• Passionate about high‑quality education and pupil progress.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Reliable, adaptable and professional attitude.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
