About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistants to work on a daily basis across primary schools in South Essex. This flexible role allows you to choose the days you are available while gaining valuable classroom experience in a variety of school settings.
Key responsibilities
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing daily activities.
- Assist pupils with learning tasks, reinforcing understanding and encouraging participation.
- Maintain a positive and orderly environment, supporting behaviour management strategies.
- Adapt quickly to different year groups, curricula, and school policies.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to pupils who need extra help.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting.
- Confident and patient when supporting pupils in a classroom environment.
- Ability to adapt swiftly to new schools and teaching teams.
- Professional, dependable, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Genuine interest in helping children learn and develop.
Required skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic classroom management techniques.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and support teaching staff.
