Support Worker – Learning Disabilities (Days)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Support Workers to join our specialist learning-disabilities service in Saltdean. The role is day-time, 7.5-hour shifts with alternate weekends, offering both full-time and part-time contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities.
• Assist with personal care, daily living tasks and promote independence.
• Support participation in community activities and use of sensory and “chill-out” rooms.
• Follow care plans and maintain accurate records of support provided.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, caring environments.

Required profile

• A warm, friendly attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
• Patience, a sense of humour and compassion.
• Willingness to undertake paid training and qualifications.
• Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including alternate weekends.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; training will be provided.

• Starting salary £12.75‑£12.95 per hour, increasing after qualifications.
