Swimming Teacher – Abbey Leisure Complex

About the role
GLL is seeking enthusiastic Swimming Teachers to join the team at Abbey Leisure Complex in Cambridge. You will deliver safe, consistent swimming lessons to a wide range of pupils, from children to adults, helping them build confidence and competence in the water.
Key responsibilities
- Provide group and one‑to‑one swimming lessons in line with the centre’s teaching standards.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional poolside environment for customers.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all pupils during lessons, complying with health, safety and safeguarding policies.
- Encourage pupils to enrol in further courses and assist with enrolments as required.
- Record lesson outcomes and award achievements according to the product manual.
Required profile
- STA Award or Certificate level, or Swim England Level 2 qualification.
- Ideally hold the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches.
- Good knowledge of health, safety legislation and child protection policies.
- Approachable, patient and able to motivate learners of all ages.
