Teacher – SEND Specialist (Autism & SEMH)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our specialist day school in Grange‑over‑Sands. You will work with pupils who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for primary‑age pupils with complex learning needs.
• Collaborate with in‑house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals to support individual pupil progress.
• Monitor and assess pupil achievement, adjusting strategies to promote self‑esteem and independence.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment and manage challenging behaviours.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a primary school setting, preferably within a SEND environment.
• Resilience, dedication and a passion for celebrating small learning victories.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
