Teaching Assistant – Flexible Full‑Time/Part‑Time in Chester

About the role

Academics is seeking qualified Teaching Assistants to support classrooms in Chester and surrounding schools. The role offers flexible full‑time or part‑time shifts, allowing you to gain diverse experience while helping teachers deliver high‑impact lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted booster sessions in reading, writing and maths for small groups of pupils.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, resource management and overall classroom organisation.
• Work alongside SEN support staff to provide inclusive assistance for children with additional learning or physical needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, welcoming atmosphere.

Required profile

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in an early years or primary setting.
• Proactive attitude toward professional development.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
