About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an independent school in North London that specialises in supporting neurodivergent learners aged 7‑19. The role focuses on students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD and other complex needs, providing both academic and emotional support.
Key responsibilities
- Support individual students or small groups with ASD, ADHD, anxiety or communication challenges.
- Deliver academic assistance, reinforce lesson content and promote inclusive classroom culture.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, delivery and classroom organisation.
- Follow safeguarding policies to ensure student safety and well‑being.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK and a clear, up‑to‑date DBS check.
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant, preferably with neurodivergent pupils.
- Understanding of ASD and ADHD, with a patient, proactive attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and collaborate within a supportive team.
