Teaching Assistant – Full‑time Academic Year (Bedford)

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Bedford is looking for an Access to Learning Teaching Assistant to support pupils throughout the academic year (September 2026 – July 2027). The role is full‑time and temporary, offering a structured environment within a respected multi‑academy trust.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils who require additional help accessing the curriculum
• Deliver targeted interventions and learning‑support sessions
• Work one‑to‑one and with small groups of pupils
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and engagement in learning
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to monitor progress
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting
• Understanding of barriers to learning and strategies to overcome them
• Patient, resilient and supportive approach
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• Commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential
