Teaching Fellow – Physical Education

About the role

This full‑time Teaching Fellow role provides an experienced practitioner with the chance to lead Physical Education input across the University of Warwick’s Initial Teacher Education programmes. You will shape subject pedagogy for beginning teachers both locally and internationally, and contribute to professional practice modules.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the provision of specialist Physical Education input to ITE programmes.
• Develop and deliver content for Professional Enquiry and Professional Practice modules.
• Mark academic work and participate in the selection of PGCE applicants.
• Model effective teaching practices for trainee teachers.
• Collaborate with research and scholarship activities within the School of Education, Learning and Communication Sciences.
• Engage in regular professional development and peer‑learning activities.

Required profile

• Experience teaching Physical Education at secondary level.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support teacher education.
• Willingness to develop a strong understanding of educational research.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for university and school settings.
• Strong time‑management and ability to self‑manage a complex workload.
