Technical Manager – Food Manufacturing (6-month FTC)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Manager for a six‑month fixed‑term contract within a large‑scale bakery ingredients manufacturing site. The role is based in the North West of England and involves leading the technical and quality function, ensuring food safety and compliance across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site’s technical and quality teams, maintaining BRC and HACCP standards.
• Oversee and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all customer and regulatory requirements are met.
• Manage a small technical team, acting as the primary technical expert on the site.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support senior leadership on technical matters.
• Maintain and develop quality management systems and food safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Experience handling audits, compliance standards and customer‑facing technical requirements.
• Proactive leadership style; bakery experience is advantageous but not essential.
