Technical Service Engineer

About the role

The Technical Service Engineer will provide hands‑on support for advanced scientific equipment and internal IT systems. You will work from our Aylesbury workshop, assisting customers remotely and occasionally travelling to field sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair hardware and software faults on laboratory instrumentation.
• Manage workshop investigations, document repairs and maintain service records in the CRM system.
• Provide remote technical support to customers via phone and email.
• Assist field engineers and accompany them to customer sites when required.
• Deliver first‑line IT support for office and field staff, including Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory issues.
• Support onboarding/off‑boarding, equipment setup and IT asset tracking.

Required profile

• Scientific or medical background with experience in a laboratory, biotech or technical instrumentation environment.
• Proven track record in diagnosing and repairing hardware/software faults.
• Previous IT support experience, preferably with Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude, attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
