Temporary Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Temporary Finance Manager to join a medium‑sized retail organisation in Bournemouth. This short‑term assignment will support the finance team in delivering accurate financial insight and driving sound business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, review and present financial reports and analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Monitor financial performance, identify trends, variances and recommend actions.
• Work with department heads to develop budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
• Provide financial guidance to non‑financial colleagues.

Required profile

• Strong background in accounting and finance.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, analysis and forecasting.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder interaction.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI.
• Experience with accounting software.
