Test Engineer

About the role

Our client, an established technology business delivering web‑based software solutions, is seeking a Test Engineer to join the team in Bournemouth. The role focuses on manual testing, defect management and application support, ensuring the stability and reliability of their web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases and structured testing for new releases.
• Log, track and manage defects using the defect tracking system.
• Provide first‑line application support, investigating and resolving user issues.
• Validate fixes and verify that releases meet quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of commercial QA experience.
• Strong manual testing skills with ability to design and execute test cases.
• Excellent documentation and reporting abilities, especially with Excel.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Required skills

• Manual testing and test case creation.
• Defect logging and management.
• Advanced Excel (formulas, pivots, charts).
• SQL querying.
• API testing.
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile processes.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps concepts.
