Therapeutic Education Practitioner – Special Needs (London)

About the role
We are seeking a Therapeutic Education Practitioner to join a specialist PRU school in North West London. The role involves supporting secondary‑aged pupils with SEMH, SEBD, ASD and challenging behaviour, helping them achieve personalised educational outcomes in a safe, stable environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted lessons and therapeutic activities across a range of subjects.
- Develop and implement highly personalised individual education plans.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to design curriculum‑aligned activities.
- Assess pupils with short‑ or long‑term learning difficulties and identify specific needs.
- Liaise with external professionals such as social workers, speech‑language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
Required profile
- Experience working with secondary pupils who have SEMH, SEBD, ASD or other complex SEN needs.
- Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and build positive relationships.
- Current DBS check on the update service.
- Team Teach or MAPA training is desirable.
- Experience teaching or tutoring small groups and covering a range of subjects.
