Trading Manager, Carterton

About the role

Morrisons is looking for a Trading Manager for its Carterton store (20 Black Bourton Road, Carterton, OX18 3HA). Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the Trading Manager brings a hands-on approach to managing store-wide trading routines, leading the team to deliver market-leading product availability, run smooth promotional events and keep every aisle safe, legal and ready for trade. The role is permanent, 40 hours per week, with a closing date of 18 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to deliver outstanding shopping experiences, plan promotions and act on customer feedback
• Manage shift rosters, attendance and talent development, delivering training so colleagues can work flexibly across departments
• Drive performance and availability, guiding colleagues to meet operational and sales targets
• Plan resources, manage daily team routines and build strong working relationships with other store departments

Required profile

• Experience leading and supporting a team in a fast-paced environment, running shifts and handling daily trading priorities
• Confident to step up as Manager in Charge when required
• Communicates naturally, keeps calm under pressure and listens to customer and colleague feedback
• Practical approach to department routines, with attention to safety, stock availability and operational standards
• A background in retail, hospitality, leisure or travel is welcome
