Trainee Accounts Assistant (AAT) – London

About the role

Our client, an established accountancy firm in Central London, is looking for a motivated Trainee Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is an entry‑level position designed for candidates currently studying the AAT qualification who want hands‑on experience in bookkeeping and account preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general bookkeeping for a portfolio of small to medium‑sized businesses.
• Prepare accounts up to trial balance and compile VAT returns.
• Use Microsoft Excel, Xero and QuickBooks to record and analyse financial data.
• Support senior accountants with ad‑hoc financial tasks as required.

Required profile

• GCSEs in Maths and English at grades 6‑9.
• Currently studying towards the AAT qualification, ideally Level 3.
• Willingness to work full‑time and study in personal time.
• Ability to commute to Central London.
• Good academic record and strong work ethic.
