Trainee Bus Driver – Full Training & Paid Shifts

About the role

Join Arriva at the Bootle depot and start a rewarding career as a Trainee Bus Driver. You will receive full paid training, including a PCV licence, and begin working on routes that connect communities across North West England.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a passenger bus safely and on schedule.
• Provide friendly, courteous service to passengers.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑journey vehicle checks.
• Ensure passenger safety and compliance with all transport regulations.
• Report any incidents or vehicle issues promptly.

Required profile

• Be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 12 months driving experience.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
• Pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Demonstrate strong communication and customer‑service skills.

Required skills

• Valid UK driving licence.
• Ability to obtain or hold a PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) licence.
• Knowledge of road safety and vehicle operation procedures.
