Trainee Paraplanner – Financial Planning Support

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is ideal for a motivated individual currently working in financial planning support who wants to progress into paraplanning. You will join a well‑established independent financial planning firm in Stockton‑on‑Tees, working closely with experienced Financial Planners and Paraplanners to ensure a smooth, compliant client journey.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Financial Planners with case preparation and detailed research.
• Produce suitability reports and comprehensive financial planning documentation.
• Conduct product, fund and provider research to support recommendations.
• Support cashflow modelling where required.
• Prepare review packs and client review documentation.
• Maintain accurate, compliant client records.
• Liaise with providers and platforms to obtain necessary information.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in a support or administrative role within a financial planning firm.
• Strong understanding of financial planning products and processes.
• Working towards, or already holding, a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent).
• Good technical knowledge of pensions, investments and protection.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational ability and strong communication skills.
