About the role
Salford City College is seeking an enthusiastic Trainer/Assessor to join its Health and Social Care and Children’s Services team. The role focuses on delivering residential childcare and early years apprenticeships, ensuring learners receive high‑quality support and achieve their qualifications.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with employers and apprentices both virtually and in‑person to provide guidance on the apprenticeship pathway.
- Deliver site‑based assessments and monitor apprentice progress against standards.
- Maintain accurate records, produce progress reports and identify new apprenticeship opportunities.
- Design and deliver short training courses to meet learner needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet and exceed apprenticeship targets.
Required profile
- Relevant industry experience in residential childcare and early years.
- Experience supporting apprentices on similar programmes.
- Strong communication and customer‑service abilities.
- Ideally holds an assessor qualification; teaching, training or IQA qualifications are advantageous.
Required skills
- Proficiency with e‑portfolio management systems.
- Assessor qualification (preferred).
