Training Delivery Instructor – Pipefitter Engineering

About the role

This position supports Project Selborne, a 12‑year transformation of Royal Navy training. You will deliver hands‑on pipefitting and coppersmith training to future naval engineers, helping the Navy get better‑trained sailors to the front line faster.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical training on fitting pipework from engineering drawings.
• Teach and demonstrate brazing techniques.
• Maintain strong relationships with trainees and marine engineering staff.
• Assess trainee progress, give feedback and tailor learning approaches.
• Update and improve training materials and delivery methods.
• Ensure compliance with KPIs, safety standards and maintain a CPD portfolio.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an engineering discipline.
• Proven practical experience in coppersmith/pipefitter workshop work.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
• Competent use of IT hardware and software in a workplace.
