Training Officer – Term Time + 3 Weeks (37 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a Training Officer to deliver term‑time training plus three additional weeks each year for our school catering teams across Hertfordshire, London and the South of England. You will work on‑site at multiple locations, supporting new contract launches and helping teams provide safe, high‑quality food services to thousands of children.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver practical training on food safety, health & safety and operational procedures.
• Coach and develop catering staff across several sites.
• Support apprentices, work‑experience students and emerging talent.
• Assist with mobilisation of new contracts and prepare teams for launch.
• Review, update and improve training materials and programmes.
• Identify skills gaps and promote career development.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering training, coaching or team development.
• Background in catering, food service or a related operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Good IT proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to travel regularly and occasional overnight stays.
