Traveller Liaison Officer – Housing Management

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Traveller Liaison Officer to manage a Traveller site for a well‑established local authority housing team in Wembley. The role involves being the primary contact for residents and stakeholders, ensuring high‑quality tenancy and licence management, and promoting community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day management of the Traveller site, acting as the face of the landlord.
• Administer licences from initial letting through termination and re‑let.
• Support residents in meeting licence agreements and rental obligations.
• Promote financial inclusion and signpost support services.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, community groups and partner agencies.
• Coordinate multi‑agency meetings and develop action plans for complex cases.
• Maintain accurate resident records and record interactions in real time.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Use mobile technology and housing management systems to resolve issues proactively.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of local authority housing services and relevant legislation (Protection from Eviction Act 1977, Housing Act 1988).
• Knowledge of welfare benefits, including Universal Credit.
• Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion issues affecting Gypsy, Traveller and Roma communities.
• Experience in housing or tenancy management, preferably within a local authority setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
