Treasury Manager

About the role

Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Treasury Manager for the Co‑op Academies Trust. The role will oversee the Trust’s treasury function, including banking arrangements, cash‑flow management, investments and financial controls across its academies and central operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Trust‑wide banking arrangements across academies and central operations.
• Serve as the primary contact for banking providers and financial institutions.
• Monitor daily cash positions and produce short‑ and medium‑term cash‑flow forecasts.
• Invest cash balances in low‑risk instruments in line with Trust policy.
• Prepare treasury reports and recommendations for senior leaders and committees.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, cashbook journals and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Ensure compliance with the Academies Trust Handbook, ESFA guidance and Trust financial policies.
• Support onboarding of new academies, including banking set‑up and training.
• Line‑manage and develop two Treasury Assistants.

Required profile

• Substantial experience in treasury, cash management or a related finance role.
• Proven experience managing banking arrangements and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and risk management.
• Experience supervising or managing staff.
• Ability to analyse financial information and present it clearly to non‑finance colleagues.
• High level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
• Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or working towards one.
• Experience within a Multi‑Academy Trust, education or public‑sector environment is beneficial.
