Treatment Room Co-ordinator

About the role

NHS Lanarkshire is recruiting a Treatment Room Co-ordinator, a post open only to its current employees. The postholder supports the Community Nursing Team Leader, who has overall line management responsibility for the treatment room, and ensures a person-centred, safe and effective approach to care delivery. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate episodes of care in line with NHS Lanarkshire policies, procedures and NMC guidelines.
• Carry out all forms of relevant care without supervision and demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and unregistered nursing staff.
• Direct, coordinate and supervise the work of other staff involved in patient care, and ensure appropriate resources are available for planned procedures, including Keep Well.
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the department, including supervision and deployment of staff across all sites, ensuring equitable service provision.
• Deliver treatment room nursing practice such as tissue viability and infection control, and comply with the NMC code of professional conduct and public protection responsibilities.
• Implement clinical governance processes involving users and carers to drive continuous practice improvement.
• Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team, contribute to practice development and health improvement planning, and support organisational goals.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
• Degree level education, or working towards it.
• Postgraduate expertise in the specialty or area of practice, showing the breadth of knowledge needed to lead safely and effectively.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards in the specialty.
• A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence.
