Van Driver – Deliver Medical Equipment in East London

About the role

Join a council‑owned organisation delivering vital medical equipment and mobility aids to residents in Newham, Waltham Forest and surrounding East London. The position starts as a Driver's Mate while your Enhanced DBS is processed, then progresses to a fully qualified Van Driver role.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and collect medical equipment using a 3.5‑tonne van.
• Assist with basic installation and demonstration of equipment in customers' homes.
• Load and unload vehicles safely, performing daily vehicle checks.
• Support warehouse operations after deliveries are completed.
• Provide a professional, compassionate service to vulnerable residents.

Required profile

• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Minimum 2 years UK commercial driving experience.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (processed after start).
• Minimum 5 years checkable employment history.
• Proof of right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Vehicle operation (3.5‑tonne van).
• Basic power tools for simple installations.
