Vehicle Maintenance Manager – Military Fleet

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance and repair operations for a large fleet of military and civilian vehicles on Diego Garcia. The role ensures all assets are serviced according to contract, government, and military standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute vehicle maintenance and recovery operations in line with contract requirements and military standards.
• Manage documentation such as warranties, LTDD, ECOD reports, and ensure odometer readings are up‑to‑date in the CMMS.
• Coordinate with managers, military personnel, suppliers, and vendors to schedule maintenance, handle warranty issues, and track asset utilization.
• Implement budgeting, analysis, and reporting for maintenance operations, monitor burn rates, and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, ANSI, OEM, and military standards.
• Lead and develop the maintenance team while enforcing health, safety, and welfare guidelines.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of maintenance and supply principles for material handling, heavy trucks, and equipment.
• Familiarity with US military maintenance support systems and production control.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work onsite in a remote island environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GCSS‑Army maintenance management modules.
• Competence in Microsoft Office suite for reporting and documentation.
