Waking Night Support Worker – Children's Residential

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to join our residential children’s home in Bognor Regis. You will provide overnight care for children and young people who have experienced trauma, ensuring a safe, calm and nurturing environment throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a secure and supportive overnight environment in line with individual care plans.
• Carry out regular welfare checks and respond calmly to any incidents.
• Complete accurate handovers, records and documentation each shift.
• Administer medication where trained and authorised.
• Use therapeutic, trauma‑informed approaches to promote positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with the day‑time team to ensure continuity of care.
• Help keep the home clean, welcoming and homely.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence.
• Genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Resilient, emotionally mature and able to work independently during night shifts.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work both full‑time and part‑time patterns.
• Basic IT competence for record‑keeping.
