Wills and Planning Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a qualified legal professional to supervise and ensure the quality of wills, trusts and lasting powers of attorney for our private client estate‑planning team. The role offers flexible working arrangements and no billable targets, allowing you to focus on technical excellence and client service.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced solicitors and technical staff to progress client files.
• Review and quality‑check wills, trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney for legal and technical accuracy.
• Provide feedback and suggest changes to meet clients’ estate‑planning objectives.
• Liaise with the estate‑planning team, offering technical support and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal processes.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor, CILEX or STEP member, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of estate planning, wills drafting and tax considerations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

What we offer

• Salary range £30,001‑£45,000 per year.
• Flexible hours – part‑time (minimum 22.5 h) or full‑time (37.5 h).
• Hybrid work model – remote or onsite at our Sheffield office.
