WMS Product Manager – Contract (12‑month)

About the role

We are seeking a WMS Product Manager on a 12‑month contract to lead the legacy Food Warehouse Management System for a leading UK retailer. The role balances operational stability with continuous improvement, working remotely with occasional travel along the M1 corridor.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the legacy WMS product, ensuring day‑to‑day operational reliability.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog in line with business priorities.
• Define, maintain and communicate the product roadmap to stakeholders.
• Deliver system enhancements such as paperless loading and other continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with operational and technical teams to translate requirements into clear deliverables.
• Champion Agile ways of working and drive backlog‑led delivery.
• Support innovation and modernisation projects across the warehouse technology landscape.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Product Manager within a Warehouse Management or supply‑chain environment.
• Hands‑on experience with RedPrairie (Blue Yonder / JDA) WMS, preferably in food or retail operations.
• Track record of maintaining stability of live, business‑critical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to define product roadmaps and deliver enhancements.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work in Agile product delivery settings.
• Exposure to warehouse automation technologies (e.g., Autonomous Mobile Robots) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of legacy WMS modernisation or migration programmes is a plus.
