Year 1 Teacher – Primary School (Temporary, Full‑Time)

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Nelson to find a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher on a temporary full‑time basis from September 2026. The school values a safe, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons for Year 1 pupils.
• Support early reading, writing and maths development.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Foster confidence, independence and a love of learning in the classroom.

Required profile

• Recent experience teaching Year 1 or Key Stage 1.
• Proven ability to create engaging, structured lessons.
• Strong focus on early literacy and numeracy.
• Commitment to high standards of behaviour and achievement.
• Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners, including SEND.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
