Year 3 Teacher – Shard End (Long‑Term, Oct 2026)

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Qualified Teacher (QTS) to lead a Year 3 class in a two‑form entry primary school in Shard End, Birmingham. The role starts in October 2026 and is expected to continue for the remainder of the academic year on a full‑time basis.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the national curriculum and promote progression in literacy and numeracy.
- Identify and support the needs of SEN and high‑ability pupils.
- Maintain classroom discipline, punctuality, and high standards of work and homework.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, questioning techniques, and assessment strategies to monitor and enhance pupil learning.
- Evaluate personal teaching practice and adapt approaches for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with classroom support staff to ensure effective deployment of resources.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary education, preferably KS2.
- Ability to manage a Year 3 class independently.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Early‑career teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.
