Year 6 Teacher & Year Group Lead (Primary School)

About the role
We are seeking an inspirational Year 6 Teacher who will also act as the Year Group Lead for a vibrant primary school in Birmingham. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality lessons, prepare pupils for SATs and guide the Year 6 team through a critical stage of their education.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Lead and support the Year 6 teaching team, contributing to year‑group planning.
- Prepare pupils for SATs while maintaining a broad, enjoyable curriculum.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring each child reaches their potential.
- Create a positive, inclusive, well‑managed classroom environment.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, colleagues and parents to achieve the best outcomes.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Proven experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, preferably Year 6.
- Leadership experience or ambition to become a Year Group Lead.
- Strong classroom management and high expectations for behaviour and learning.
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- Passion for supporting children academically and personally.
