1:1 In-Person Secondary Tutor – Glastonbury

About the role
Quantum Scholars are seeking caring and reliable secondary tutors to deliver one‑to‑one, in‑person tuition for secondary‑aged pupils in Glastonbury and surrounding areas. Sessions take place in the young person’s home or a suitable community setting and are tailored to each learner’s needs, abilities and emotional readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 in‑person tuition across one or more secondary subjects.
- Travel to pupils’ homes or community venues and prepare personalised learning activities.
- Support academic progress, confidence and re‑engagement with education.
- Adapt sessions for pupils with SEND, SEMH, anxiety, EBSA or gaps in education.
- Maintain brief records of attendance, content and progress.
- Collaborate professionally with parents, carers and relevant professionals.
Required profile
- Experience working with secondary‑aged pupils.
- Strong knowledge in at least one secondary curriculum area (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities).
- Patient, encouraging and flexible approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people.
- Ability to travel within Glastonbury and surrounding locations.
Required skills
- Subject‑specific expertise in secondary curriculum topics.
- Effective communication and organisational abilities.
