1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 2 (Garstang)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil in Key Stage 2 at a primary school in Garstang. The role focuses on providing personalised support to help the child access the curriculum and develop socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
• Assist in delivering targeted interventions and differentiated learning activities.
• Support the pupil’s emotional regulation and behaviour management.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals.
• Monitor progress and contribute to reports and reviews.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working within Key Stage 2 (essential).
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA Level 2/3) desirable but not essential.
