1:1 Teaching Assistant – Sheffield

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with an individual pupil in a supportive, inclusive school in Sheffield. You will provide personalised academic, emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access the curriculum and thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one support tailored to the pupil’s learning, emotional and developmental needs.
• Assist the pupil in accessing classroom activities and adapt resources where necessary.
• Implement agreed behaviour strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Observe, record and report on the pupil’s academic, social and emotional progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent support.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting.
• Patient, empathetic and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
