1st Line Technical Support Engineer

About the role

Join a leading UK manufacturer of automatic gates, traffic barriers, access control systems and entrance automation as a First Line Technical Support Engineer. You will work from a modern office, providing hands‑on technical assistance to installers, engineers and customers across the UK, with no call‑outs, weekends or overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support via telephone and email.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults remotely.
• Support engineers during installation and commissioning.
• Assist with programming and configuration of automation systems.
• Advise customers on product selection and correct applications.
• Identify spare parts and recommend replacement components.
• Escalate complex engineering issues when required.
• Develop long‑term expertise across the full product range.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrical Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Technician or similar.
• Experience in field service, installation, commissioning or automation.
• Strong electrical/electronic fault‑finding abilities.
• Comfortable working with gate automation, access control, automatic doors and traffic barriers.
