6‑Month Fixed‑Term Accounts Assistant (Finance)

About the role

This 6‑month fixed‑term position offers an excellent entry point into finance within a leading professional services organisation in Bath. You will join a growing finance team, supporting day‑to‑day accounting activities and gaining exposure to a broad range of transaction and month‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and issue client invoices accurately and on schedule.
• Provide financial administration support to project and operational teams.
• Monitor timesheet submissions, resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing.
• Assist with month‑end activities, including accruals, pre‑payments and reconciliations.
• Review departmental cost reports and maintain accurate records across finance systems.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the wider finance team with ad‑hoc reporting and administrative tasks.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives where appropriate.

Required profile

• Studying or recently completed AAT qualification, or recent graduate looking to start a finance career.
• Background in administration or customer service with some exposure to accounts administration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Positive, proactive attitude and team‑oriented approach.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience using ERP or other finance systems.
