AAT Qualified Accounts Assistant – Weybridge

About the role

We are partnering with a growing independent accountancy practice in Weybridge to hire an AAT‑qualified Accounts Assistant. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to develop practical accounting experience within a supportive team, working with a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bookkeeping records and VAT returns for a varied client base.
• Assist in the preparation of year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Compile Self Assessment tax returns and support other personal tax compliance work.
• Liaise with clients to gather information, answer queries and provide ongoing support.
• Maintain accurate financial records using cloud accounting software.
• Support senior team members with ad‑hoc accounting assignments, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Required profile

• A relevant qualification such as AAT Level 4, or enrolment in an ACCA/ACA apprenticeship.
• Previous experience in a UK‑based accountancy practice.
• Strong organisational skills with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Friendly, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.
