Accountant – 12‑month Fixed Term in Edinburgh

About the role

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity with a leading investment management organisation in Edinburgh. As an Accountant you will support both management and statutory reporting, working closely with the Finance Manager and senior stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and related reconciliations.
• Take ownership of designated income and expenditure areas.
• Produce monthly financial reports for senior leadership.
• Support tax reporting and year‑end accounting for overseas operations.
• Prepare statutory accounts for associated entities.
• Coordinate annual SOX and statutory audits with external auditors.
• Complete VAT returns and assist with VAT matters.
• Deliver month‑end reporting to the US parent company.
• Represent finance on internal governance committees as required.
• Support purchase ledger activities and enhance financial controls.
• Provide financial guidance to stakeholders and respond to queries.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous experience in financial reporting or accounting.
• Experience in asset management or financial services is a plus.
• Proactive problem‑solver with strong organisational abilities.
