Accountant – Banbury

About the role

We are looking for a recently qualified ACCA, ACA or qualified‑by‑experience accountant to join our Banbury office. The role supports managers and directors in delivering a full range of accountancy services, including financial reporting, corporate and personal tax, and audit work for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare limited company accounts, partnership and sole trader accounts for review.
• Compute corporation tax and prepare personal/partnership tax returns.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and management accounts.
• Assist with audit engagements and liaise with HMRC on clients’ behalf.
• Supervise and mentor trainees, reviewing their work.
• Travel to other offices and client sites as required.

Required profile

• Qualified ACCA/ACA (part‑qualified and QBE candidates considered).
• Minimum three years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑driven, results‑oriented with a positive outlook.
• Willingness to work flexibly across offices and client premises.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CCH.
• Good IT literacy and ability to work with standard office applications.
