Accountant – Finance Operations (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a high‑calibre Accountant to join the Finance Operations team in Cardiff on a twelve‑month fixed‑term maternity cover. The role is hybrid, with two days per week in the office, and will focus on intercompany accounting, balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis and resolution of discrepancies.
• Oversee intercompany cash settlement activities, ensuring timely payments, receipts and alignment with treasury requirements.
• Review and test balance‑sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with internal controls and documented evidence.
• Prioritise workload, balancing recurring deadlines with ad‑hoc requests to deliver high‑quality outputs.
• Collaborate with outsourced partners, finance teams and divisional stakeholders.
• Support the efficient delivery of internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting expertise.
• Proven experience in balance‑sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload under tight deadlines.
• Effective communicator able to work confidently with finance, operations and wider business teams.
