Accountant – Fund Accounting (0-2 years PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a newly qualified accountant (0–2 years post‑qualification) to join a fast‑moving macro hedge fund in London. The role offers broad exposure to fund accounting, financial reporting and business operations within a high‑performance investment environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assist with NAV calculations and investor reporting
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Support the year‑end audit process and liaise with external auditors
• Work closely with fund administrators to oversee fund accounting activities
• Review reconciliations (cash, positions, P&L) and investigate discrepancies
• Assist in monitoring portfolio valuations and pricing sources
• Produce internal management accounts and variance analysis
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis to support investment and operational decisions
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures
• Assist with regulatory reporting requirements
• Support implementation and improvement of financial processes and systems

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
• 0–2 years post‑qualified experience
• Background in audit, fund accounting, or financial services preferred
• Exposure to investment management, hedge funds, or asset management advantageous
