Accountant – Hybrid Working

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Accountant to join our growing accountancy and business advisory practice. Working in a hybrid model, you will become a trusted point of contact for owner‑managed clients across a range of sectors, helping them understand their finances and make better business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Compile corporation tax computations and returns.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns using cloud accounting software.
• Support clients with bookkeeping and digital accounting solutions.
• Assist on audit assignments when required.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and mentor trainees.
• Identify tax planning and business advisory opportunities.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified, or currently studying towards a qualification.
• Experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts preparation.
• Experience preparing corporation tax and VAT returns.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Proactive attitude with a genuine interest in helping clients succeed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero cloud accounting software.
