Accountant – Public Sector Finance (Temporary)

About the role
This temporary position supports a well‑established training provider in the South of Scotland. The accountant will manage financial operations, ensure compliance with public sector regulations, and deliver accurate reporting until the end of the year.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile financial records and ledgers.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with public sector and government accounting frameworks.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
Required profile
- Member of CCAB (or an equivalent accounting body).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial management and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of public sector/government accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Public sector accounting expertise.
- Financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

- Salary between £50,000 and £55,000 per annum (pro‑rata).
