Accounts and Audit Senior

About the role

We are seeking a qualified ACA/ACCA Accounts and Audit Senior to join a small independent public practice firm in Northamptonshire. The position combines account preparation and audit work, offering responsibility, variety and clear career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Work on audit engagements from planning through to completion (approximately 25% of the role).
• Produce management accounts for clients.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping using both computerized packages and manual systems.
• Complete corporation tax and personal tax computations, including capital allowances.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with public practice experience.
• Some audit exposure – the role will develop audit planning and management skills.
• Knowledge of Mercia audit manuals and basic tax computation ability.
• Ability to work independently and support clients across a range of sectors.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Iris Accounts Production.
• Familiarity with Sage accounting software.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks.
