Accounts Semi‑Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, an independent accountancy practice serving individuals, businesses and not‑for‑profit organisations across the UK and Europe, is seeking an Accounts Semi‑Senior to join their busy Eastleigh office. The role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio and the chance to develop technical expertise in a supportive, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping using cloud‑based software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
• Support month‑end and year‑end accounting processes.
• Assist with Making Tax Digital (MTD) for ITSA, including digital record‑keeping and quarterly submissions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing professional advice.
• Help prepare financial accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships across multiple industries.

Required profile

• AAT level 4 studier or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years’ experience in an accountancy practice, including year‑end work.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
• Proactive, client‑focused attitude with strong communication skills.
