Accounts Senior – Banbury

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join our well‑established firm in Banbury. You will work closely with partners and managers, delivering high‑quality accounts and tax services to a diverse client base across sectors such as rural business, tech and owner‑managed companies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts and personal tax returns for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Advise on tax liabilities, deadlines and submit returns to HMRC.
• Liaise directly with clients to gather information and build trusted relationships.
• Support partners on tax planning and advisory projects.
• Identify opportunities to add value through tailored advice.
• Review junior staff work and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
• Utilise accounting software including CCH, Xero, Sage and other cloud tools.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist) with strong experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Solid accounts preparation and personal tax skills.
• Proactive, professional approach with strong communication and rapport‑building abilities.
• Good working knowledge of cloud accounting tools.

Required skills

• CCH accounting software.
• Xero cloud accounting platform.
• Sage accounting system.
