Accounts & Tax Manager – Rural Advisory Team

About the role

Our client, a growing accountancy practice in Banbury, is seeking an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to lead their rural accounts and advisory team. You will work with a diverse portfolio of landed estates, farms, equine and bloodstock businesses, delivering bespoke accounting and tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of rural clients, liaising internally and meeting clients to approve robust tax computations.
• Identify technical issues, deliver complex tax advisory outcomes and maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
• Lead, develop and review the team, providing feedback and delegating work to build a confident, technically capable group.
• Drive process efficiency, oversee WIP and billing, maintain compliance trackers and ensure high‑quality client files.
• Identify advisory opportunities, support partners on complex matters and represent the firm at external events.
• Collaborate with other teams on best‑practice and technology projects.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified with extensive experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS105, FRS102 1A and a full range of tax areas (Income Tax, VAT, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Trusts & Estates, HMRC investigations).
• Demonstrated ability to serve rural clients and deliver tailored tax solutions.
