Adult Mental Health Social Worker

About the role

The Experienced Adult Mental Health Social Worker will deliver high‑quality, person‑centred social work services to adults facing mental health challenges. You will support individuals to achieve recovery, independence and improved wellbeing while working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct complex assessments and develop personalised care plans.
• Manage cases, including ongoing monitoring and review.
• Carry out safeguarding investigations and adult protection interventions.
• Provide mental health interventions and crisis management.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency partners and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Apply legal frameworks such as the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
• Contribute to professional development and leadership within the team.

Required profile

• Degree in Social Work (BA/MA/Diploma) and registration with Social Work England.
• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience in adult mental health social work.
• Proven experience managing complex adult mental health cases and safeguarding investigations.
• Strong knowledge of adult mental health conditions, recovery models, and relevant legislation.
