AI Integration & Automation Engineer – Customs

About the role

You will take our AI stack and lead its development and customisation for the customs market. This builder‑and‑doer position involves designing, testing and implementing practical, compliant AI solutions on top of foundation models for document understanding, classification, retrieval and multi‑step operational workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and customise AI solutions from prototype to production ownership.
• Identify automation and decision‑support opportunities across customs processes and size them before building.
• Design solutions using generative AI and large language models, including retrieval‑augmented generation and structured extraction.
• Own evaluation, defining success criteria, monitoring performance, inference cost, latency and business impact.
• Manage pilots, implement solutions and set clear criteria for scaling or terminating projects.
• Collaborate with operations, transformation, IT and group functions while ensuring privacy, security and AI‑governance compliance.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of AI or software engineering experience with production‑grade LLM features.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills with ownership of production code.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate large language models into production systems, including prompt design and handling failures.
• Professional fluency in English and strong communication with non‑technical operations staff.
